Here are some of the health conditions we commonly support, including the diabetes topics many of our clients find most helpful.

More and more insurances are covering nutrition counseling for healthy individuals in order to PREVENT, delay, or reduce the risk of chronic disease in the future! (How was this not a thing before?) We are thrilled to be able to offer this highly individualized service to you. Consider reaching out to us today!
Our speciality! Please refer to the “diabetes education” section on this page to browse our most popular diabetes topics.
Remember, we are anti-diet dietitians so let’s ditch the yo-yo dieting and find a lifestyle approach that works for you, your appetite, and that still makes your taste buds smile. 🙂 We’ll be taking baby steps for slow, steady progress that STAYS OFF! Along the way, we’ll forget the fads, choose consistency over perfection, and celebrate non-scale victories!
Are you living with high blood pressure or cholesterol?
Have you been hospitalized with heart failure time and time again?
Did you recently have a heart attack or stroke?
Let’s shake-up those salty ways and take a hearty look at fats, fiber, and flavor! It is literally food for the soul!
Between the potassium, sodium, phosphorus, and calcium, I would deem this as one of the most complicated diseases to manage. As a dietitian, I promise to help simplify so you leave our appointment feeling confident in your food choices.
PCOS and insulin resistance can be tough—irregular cycles, stubborn weight changes, fatigue, and cravings can leave you feeling out of control. We’ll focus on balancing blood sugars and supporting hormones so you can experience fewer symptoms, steadier energy, and more confidence in your body. And no, we aren’t going to cut every carb—just small, practical changes that fit your life and actually last.
In early stages, gastroparesis can be managed by diet alone; however, it challenges most nutrition basics. Especially when it comes to fiber, forget what you knew before and let’s start fresh! Together, we’ll design a food plan for you that doesn’t end in nausea and vomiting! You’ll be feeling better again in no time!
Tube feedings prescriptions are highly individualized. From choosing the best formula, to calculating the rate, and establishing a schedule- I will help design a plan that is personalized for you!
There are very few pharmaceutical treatments for fatty liver disease (FLD). In fact, healthy eating and weight loss is the #1 most-effective way to treat FLD. Let’s get started!
“Eat a burger” comments will be a thing of the past. Let’s brainstorm high-caloric, healthy foods that will allow your body to gain or maintain healthy mass.
including PCOS, insulin resistance, acid reflux, IBS, diverticulitis, and inflammation.
Note, food sensitivities/intolerances, eating disorders, oncology nutrition, dialysis, pediatrics (without diabetes), sports and performance nutrition, and GI disorders (ulcerative colitis, crohn’s disease, SIBO, pancreatitis) are not our strength. Though, we are hoping to expand our team to include those specialities in the future.
Have you ever heard of the legacy effect? Essentially, controlling sugar now- in the early stages- completely changes the trajectory of your diabetes journey for the better. We can save your pancreatic beta cells, avoid complications, and even delay or get off some medications; but it all hinges on starting now.
As a newly diagnosed individual with diabetes, the Internet is a pretty unhelpful, even dangerous place! It is littered with misinformation, complex medical terminology, and too many recommendations to know where to start.
As a certified diabetes educator, we can sort through the noise, translate the research, and simplify everything into actionable steps that are 100% tailored to YOU! Request an appointment today!
The top 2 most-asked questions: What foods should I eat? Which ones should I avoid?
We’ll talk about that and MUCH more like my personal favorite- how you can still eat carbs without raising your sugar too high! Or how to lower your blood pressure and cholesterol. And of, course, how to lose weight WITHOUT starving.
P.S. If anyone is telling you that fruits are too high in sugar, RUN the other way!
Perhaps, one of my favorite topics- diabetes technology. I sincerely believe these devices will help improve your control while simultaneously reducing the burden of diabetes on your daily life. They are amazing x1000 and I’ll advocate for insurance coverage till the cows come home.
Whether you are looking to discuss the different tech options available, wondering if you qualify through your insurance, requesting assistance with the ordering process, struggling to maintain your supply order, or are in need of device training- I am here to help. I have experience with Tandem, Omnipod, Medtronic Minimed, Vgo, Dexcom, Freestyle Libre, Guardian, and InPen.
Tired of waking up low every morning or going high after every meal? Wondering how many carbs to eat to counteract a low? Sick of the sugar rollercoaster ride that’s interfering with your work and home life? Trying to reaaclimate your body to the target range after running high for months?
If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, let’s meet-up! Together, we will identify your blood sugar patterns and discuss adjustments to medications or lifestyle that will leave you feeling STABLE again!
Do you have a lazy pancreas? I’m here to help! Insulin can be fickle; but it is also the most effective option with virtually zero side effects. Whether you need to learn the basics for your new prescription or are a seasoned pro trying to find sugar stability, I’d love to chat. Request an appointment today.
Even though I became a dietitian to use food as medicine, I cannot deny that medication is very necessary for many individuals. Sometimes people choose medications because it is easier than changing their eating and exercise habits. Other times, people are doing everything they can from a lifestyle perspective and still require medication (although it is far fewer prescriptions than if they weren’t eating well and moving their body).
Either way, it’s okay! You, me, and your doctor can collaborate to find best medication for you while considering efficacy, safety, budget, schedule, and side effects.
When compared to primary care physicians, I tend to air on the side of less blood sugar pricks. Unless you are pregnant or on insulin, blood sugar pricks do not need to be an every day affair. However, it is still important to monitor on occasion- that means learning how to use a blood sugar meter AND being able to interpret the number as in range or out.
How long do I need to exercise to make a difference?
When is the best time to exercise?
Which exercises are most effective at lowering my blood sugar?
Great questions! I have the answers and I’d LOVE to share!
I am here to tell you that complications are NOT inevitable with diabetes.
They are preventable, preventable, preventable!
Too many clients arrive with amputation horror stories from their great uncle twice removed. Thankfully, many of these stories are from extreme situations where diabetes was neglected for years and even decades.
Good news is- you’re here! Which means you are taking initiative to learn more and control your blood sugar in order to live a long, healthy life without those pesky complications!
Stress, fear, anxiety, depression, diabetes, fatigue, burn-out and other negative emotions are very common, dare I say inevitable, among people with diabetes. Together, we will expel the myths causing your fear, find solutions to lift your spirits, give ourselves permission to take a break, and discuss strategies to cope with the darn diabetes.
